Every Novira Cymru Premier Club Now Uses Fanbase

Fanbase has reached a major milestone in Welsh football, with all 16 clubs in the Novira Cymru Premier now using the platform for ticketing and fan engagement.

It is a relationship with the Welsh game that has grown club by club over several seasons. The New Saints were the first to come on board, with the partnership immediately put to the test on a major stage as Fanbase powered ticketing for European home fixtures against Panathinaikos, Astana and Djurgårdens IF.

Those nights helped get the relationship with Welsh football off to a flying start and gave Fanbase significant exposure to clubs and supporters across the country. Since then, the platform’s presence has steadily grown, not only throughout the top flight but among clubs in the Cymru North and Cymru South too.

Colwyn Bay’s return to Fanbase has now completed the top-flight line-up, meaning every club in the Novira Cymru Premier is using the platform.

That has happened through individual relationships rather than a single league-wide agreement. Each club has made its own decision to use Fanbase, with different supporter bases, challenges and ambitions behind those decisions. What they share is a desire to make buying and accessing tickets easier, understand their supporters better and build relationships with them that extend beyond matchday.

Ian Williams, Chief Operating Officer of The New Saints, touched upon the club's journey with Fanbase: "Since joining Fanbase and taking the club digital, we have seen a significant change in our fan culture and it has enabled us to develop our offering to fans on so many new levels.

"The ability to create new membership schemes and reward our fans for their loyalty has seen our average attendances grow year on year, along with our season ticket numbers.

Fanbase has brought the club and the fans much closer together with simple booking options, adding value and rewarding their support."

For Fanbase Co-Founder and CEO Alasdair Crawley, reaching 16 out of 16 is as much a reflection of the relationships built across Welsh football as it is a milestone for the business.

“Having every club in the Novira Cymru Premier using Fanbase is something we’re incredibly proud of. To think back to starting out with The New Saints and those huge European fixtures, and to now be working with every club in the top flight, shows how far that relationship with Welsh football has come.

“What makes it particularly meaningful is that we’ve got here club by club. We’ve had to earn the trust of each one individually, understand what they need and demonstrate how Fanbase can help them build better relationships with their supporters.

“Our work in Wales now extends beyond the top flight too, with clubs across the Cymru North and Cymru South using Fanbase. There’s real ambition throughout Welsh football and we’re excited to keep growing alongside it.”

Across Wales, clubs are using Fanbase for much more than processing ticket sales. Bringing ticketing, memberships, communication and supporter data together gives clubs a clearer understanding of the people coming through their gates and more opportunities to build lasting relationships with them.

Having an entire top division using the platform also gives Fanbase a unique perspective on how supporters across a national league discover games, buy tickets and interact with their clubs. In the coming weeks, we’ll be digging deeper into that picture and sharing some of what the data can tell us about supporter behaviour and the changing relationship between clubs and fans.

From The New Saints and European nights against some of the continent’s biggest names to Colwyn Bay completing the line-up, it has been a relationship built over time. Having all 16 Novira Cymru Premier clubs on Fanbase feels like an important moment to mark.
